3M & Direct Relief: N95 Respirators Aid LA Wildfire Response

01/21/2025

To support the respiratory health and safety of first responders and communities affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, 3M has partnered with Direct Relief, one of the world’s leading humanitarian aid organizations. As part of this collaboration, 3M has donated 5 million N95 respirators to bolster global disaster response efforts and ensure quick access to essential equipment during wildfire emergencies.

Through its sponsorship of Direct Relief’s respiratory protection program, 3M has enabled the pre-stocking and strategic placement of N95 respirators in Los Angeles. This proactive approach reduces delivery delays and ensures these critical supplies reach disaster-affected areas efficiently. These N95 masks, along with other vital resources, are being distributed through local community health clinics and nonprofit organizations, including the YMCA, to help protect those impacted. 3M remains dedicated to meeting additional needs that may arise during the relief and recovery phases.

Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as N95 respirators, plays a crucial role in reducing exposure to wildfire smoke and facilitating cleanup efforts. 3M also provides online resources to educate communities about the respiratory risks associated with wildfires.

Direct Relief is delivering much-needed assistance as Los Angeles faces one of the most severe wildfire events in its history. Thousands of 3M N95 respirators have been distributed to affected individuals through local clinics, such as venice family clinic, and evacuation shelters. Additionally, Direct Relief has supplied first responders with emergency medical backpacks, PPE, and rehydration supplies, while providing displaced residents with medications, hygiene products from vaseline brand, and other essential items.

This disaster will have a lasting impact on Los Angeles, and Direct Relief remains committed to supporting the recovery process. Stay informed by following updates and visiting the link in their bio to learn more about their wildfire response efforts.
