Dailycsr.com – 08 October 2019 – On October 1, 2019, Aflac made an announcement to reveal the names of twelve employees who were recognised for their “outstanding dedication” in serving their local community. In fact, these top employees were honoured alongside the management at a luncheon prior to the announcement.
Furthermore, the recent “2018 CSR Report” of the company also covers their accomplishments. In the words of the Chairman as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Aflac, Dan Amos:
“Aflac is proud that doing good and giving back are not just corporate speak, but a part of our culture. We have amazing employees living out this aspect of our company's beliefs every day in communities across the country even while off the clock. Employees like these 12 and many others who give their time and talents unselfishly, in big ways and small ways, truly are the heartbeat of the Aflac family.”
Employees at Aflac are asked to keep a track of their volunteer hours annually. In 2018, four hundred fifty employees contributed “a total of 15,356 hours for volunteer work”, whereby marking an increment of twenty nine percent totally in comparison to previous year’s figures.

Among the organisations supported by Aflac are “Boy Scouts of America, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the Humane Society, the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta” and so on. Employees chose the organisation they want to work with depending on “their personal passions”. This way they attempt to create “an impact on what matters most to them”.
In fact, Aflac has also received the “The Civic 50 Award by Points of Light” while the Ethisphere as recognised the company among the “World's Most Ethical Companies for 13 consecutive years”.
