Dailycsr.com – 23 January 2017 – Sanofi abides by its belief of providing an individual with its “fundamental right to health” for it is convinced that its “daily efforts” are in line with the same as it strives to bring about improvement in providing healthcare access to people around the globe.
Sanofi is global “healthcare company” which is “keenly aware” of its responsibilities in the CSR field. As a result of which, to mark the “International Human Rights Day” on the 10th of December, Sanofi integrated “respect for human rights into its business operations and public positions”.
While Ethical Performance informs that:
“Sanofi adheres to the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Through its adherence to the United Nations Global Compact, Sanofi also supports and applies the core principles relating to human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption”.
Sanofi also thinks that one key factor to promote “respect for human rights” in the business ethics is to ensure that the stakeholders are entirely “aware of their individual and collective rights”, while the business need to also make sure that its stakeholders “are informed about their respective obligations towards one another”.
In an attempt to set an example, Sanofi informed all its employees about the approach it has taken by connecting Human Rights into its business and to do so it “created an internal e-learning module”, wherein the “EDH association” helped Sanofi.
The said modules address three “main issues about business and Human Rights”, whereby answering them. The three question are as followed:
What is meant by Human Rights in business? How to incorporate Human Rights into process and practices? How to manage Human Rights day to day?
