Chevron is truly honoured to receive the highest recognition for supporting U.S. military veteran employees.

Dailycsr.com – 04 October 2019 – Chevron Corporation revealed through an announcement that the company has made a place among fifteen “recipients of the 2019 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award”.

The above mentioned award was introduced in 1996 which marks the “highest recognition” bestowed by the U.S. Government to employers for supporting their employees who “serve in the National Guard and Reserve”.

Total nomination added up to two thousand four hundred for the “Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program”. This award acknowledges the employers who stretch themselves beyond limit for creating “supportive work environments for their Reserve Component employees”. The chief executive as well as the chairman of Chevron, Michael Wirth said:
“It is indeed a true honor to receive this award. More importantly, we are honored by the contributions of the Guard, reservists, and veterans who have chosen to be part of the Chevron organization.”

In the words of the Vice-President as well as the Chief Human Resources Officer of Chevron, Rhonda Morris:
“Employees with military experience and service contribute to the diversity of perspectives and experience that is fundamental to Chevron’s goal of being the global energy company most admired for its people, partnership and performance”.

Morris accepted the said award on August 23, 2019 at the Pentagon. Chevron proudly expressed its feelings for developing “policies, programs and services” to support its “Guard and Reserve employees” in order to match “the specific work/life needs related to their military commitments”. To mention one such effort would be “Chevron’s military leave policy which provides pay for much longer than the minimum required. This approach enables Chevron to successfully recruit, retain and develop Guard and reservists, military veterans, veterans with disabilities and military personnel transitioning to civilian life who have the leadership skills and technical expertise so highly valued by the company”.

Chevron proudly holds “a Veterans Network” that has nearly “1,000 employees” identifying themselves as “U.S. military veterans” who diligently work to “ensure veterans and reservists are represented and engaged at all levels of the company”. The company’s “commitment to military veterans and reserve employees, empowers them to realize their full potential as Chevron employees and members of the Guard and Reserves”.
