The 2024 award categories and recipients include:
Since 2020, Duke Energy has played a key role in attracting 5,973 new jobs and generating $3.98 billion in capital investment for the region. In the past year alone, the company’s Economic Development team, working alongside state, regional, and economic development partners, has helped secure over $26 billion in capital investments and contributed to the creation of 16,000 jobs within the communities it serves.
A major driver of this growth is Duke Energy’s Site Readiness Program, which helps identify, evaluate, and enhance high-potential industrial sites to increase their marketability. Since its launch, the program has assessed 39 sites across Ohio and Kentucky, leading to more than $2.3 billion in capital investment and the creation of over 5,300 jobs.
“We continue to see strong economic interest in our service region,” said Amy Spiller, president of Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky. “Economic development is essential to both our company and the communities we serve. Through collaboration, we are bringing new jobs and investment opportunities that support long-term prosperity.”
Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky’s partnership with REDI Cincinnati, the region’s premier economic development organization, and BE NKY has been instrumental in recent economic growth.
“Our collaboration with Duke Energy is critical in establishing Greater Cincinnati as a top location for business expansion and success,” said Kimm Lauterbach, president and CEO of REDI Cincinnati. “We applaud the award recipients for their dedication to economic development and appreciate Duke Energy’s commitment to recognizing these efforts.”
