Empowering Communities: T-Mobile Hometown Grants Drive Inclusive Development and Connectivity

T-Mobile has announced its latest recipients of the Hometown Grant program, expanding its reach to 275 communities across 46 states. This initiative provides funding and support for local projects aimed at fostering connectivity and innovation. With over $12 million already allocated since its inception in April 2021, T-Mobile is well on its way to achieving the program's $25 million milestone.
 
The Hometown Grants initiative is T-Mobile's commitment to empowering residents of small towns and rural areas to enhance their communities. By focusing on various areas such as infrastructure, education, technology, and the environment, the company is contributing to the resilience and growth of communities nationwide. Notably, T-Mobile is extending its support to include towns in Louisiana, Massachusetts, and Nebraska.
 
Among the next 25 grant recipients are diverse projects aimed at community enhancement:
Jacksonville, Ala., plans to build a gazebo at the Public Safety Complex Lake for outdoor gatherings. Camden, Ark., aims to transform an empty lot into a green space with a focus on community engagement and sustainability. Russellville, Ark., intends to renovate the Riggs-Hamilton American Legion Post 20, ensuring ADA accessibility. Ukiah, Calif., seeks to create a welcoming environment at the United Disaster Relief of Northern California Resource Center. Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, Conn., is developing a Business Tech Center to support tribal entrepreneurs. Cordele, Ga., is renovating a historic building for the Culture Arts Center. Hogansville, Ga., plans to revitalize the Royal Theatre to enhance downtown vitality. Clinton, Iowa, aims to reopen the Vince Jetter Community Center to serve youth and families. Spencer, Iowa, intends to create a musical garden in the Spencer Public Library courtyard. Angola, Ind., will expand Imagine Alley with a mural promoting kindness and inclusivity, in collaboration with local partners. Argos, Ind.: Introducing the "4-H Poss-ABILITIES Program," designed to provide inclusive livestock and exhibit building experiences for K-12 special needs students. This initiative pairs them with 4-H youth mentors, offering enriching opportunities in livestock care and exhibit development throughout Marshall County. El Dorado, Kan.: Finalizing the District Stadium, an outdoor venue dedicated to hosting various entertainment and wiffleball events for both the community and visitors. Hammond, La.: Installing a public address communications system at Chappapeela Sports Park to ensure community safety. Northampton, Mass.: Implementing artistic lighting on the railway underpass in downtown Northampton to enhance walkability and the physical connection of Main Street. Hattiesburg, Miss.: Refurbishing the playground at Vernon Dahmer Park and restoring the fire-damaged pavilion for community events and gatherings. Laurel, Miss.: Establishing the Laurel-Jones County Library Bookmobile, a refurbished trolley equipped to provide technology on the go for residents in underserved rural areas. McComb, Miss.: Establishing the first-ever McComb Museum of Music by renovating an existing Main Street building to showcase the community's local artists and musical history. Goldsboro, N.C.: Installing automatic doors at the Wayne Opportunity Center to create a safe, accessible, and inclusive environment for all. Hickory, N.C.: Upgrading the Samuel William Davis, Sr. Multipurpose Field at Taft Broome Park, enhancing the turf, PA system, netting, and fencing for sports and community events, preserving the history of the former Ridgeview High School. Murphy, N.C.: Revamping the Cherokee County Sharing Center food pantry building, including restrooms and a large wash sink for produce, to continue providing nutritious groceries to families in need. Columbus, Neb.: Constructing an all-inclusive community playground near the Columbus Community Building to cater to diverse needs and promote community bonding. Lovelock, Nev.: Renovating Amherst Park to include a fitness court with new equipment, providing a dedicated outdoor space for physical wellness activities. Independence, Ore.: Enhancing Sunset Meadows Nature Park with a new accessible play area to encourage nature exploration and community connections. Herminie, Pa.: Establishing a comprehensive career training lab within Yough School District to offer training opportunities for local youth and prepare them for the workforce, fostering economic growth. Sun Prairie, Wis.: Installing solar panels on the renovated Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce building to offer sustainable energy solutions while fostering community connections and growth.
 
T-Mobile collaborates with Main Street America and Smart Growth America to select Hometown Grant recipients based on criteria such as community impact and feasibility. Each quarter, 25 grants are awarded to towns with populations of 50,000 or less. To apply, visit [link].

Furthermore, T-Mobile is expanding its 5G network in rural communities, recently enhancing Ultra Capacity 5G network performance for millions of customers across several counties, including Scott County, Kansas, Pennington County, Pennsylvania, and Marathon and Portage County, Wisconsin.
