Entergy Volunteers Enhance Slaughter Elementary in Annual Beautification Day

08/26/2024

A team from Entergy’s River Bend Station recently took part in the second annual Slaughter Elementary School Beautification Day, dedicating their time and effort to enhancing the school’s environment. Employees worked on various projects, including tree trimming, painting parking lots, beautifying buildings, and installing new playground equipment, all aimed at supporting the local community.

"Slaughter Elementary is deeply appreciative of the partnership with Entergy’s River Bend Station volunteers. Their contributions help us kickstart a strong school year for our staff, students, and their families," said Jenny Thornton, principal of Slaughter Elementary. "Entergy’s involvement in this event clearly demonstrates their commitment to the future of our school and the well-being of our community."

Community involvement and social responsibility are core values at Entergy. The company’s employees consistently give back to the community, making a meaningful impact on the lives of those they serve.

"We take immense pride in our team’s volunteer efforts," said Phil Hansett, vice president of River Bend Station. "Their commitment goes beyond just providing clean energy; they are dedicated to supporting the communities we serve, and they prove this time and again by stepping up to help our neighbors in need."

This marks the second year that Entergy team members have participated in the school's annual beautification event.
