ASSETS celebrates its partnership with Green Mountain Energy towards “advancing environmental sustainability” besides creating additional job opportunities.

Dailycsr.com – 01 June 2021 – ASSETS is a non-profit based out of Lancaster that collaborated with businesses to bring in a community level transformation, whereby it is now equipped with its “own sustainable transportation” that will be used by “Lancaster Work”, a “social enterprise agency” of the former.

This feat achieved through the “sustainability grant” of almost “$132,000” coming from the “Green Mountain Energy Sun Club” whereby ASSETS bought “two pre-owned 7-passenger Tesla Model X vehicles” besides installing “two Level 2 charging stations” which supports people, individually wanting to boost their “economic opportunities in Lancaster County”, to move towards “clean transportation”.

Having implemented the above mentioned EV initiative, Lancaster Work will stop outsourcing “transportation to third-party vendors” at a cost of “85%” reduction annually which means ASSETS can grow by 25%. Moreover, this initiative also opens up “additional 60+” job openings which is equivalent of creating a “direct impact of $350,000 in five years” enhancing the organization’s sustainability further.

Celebrating the milestone, ASSETS held an event with was dedicated to the EVs and was attending by the likes of “Lancaster City Mayor Danene Sorace, Lancaster County Commissioner Ray D’Agostino and Pennsylvania Department of General Services Secretary Curtis Topper”. According to the press release of the Green Mountain Energy:
“Representatives from ASSETS and Lancaster Works showcased the two Tesla Model X vehicles with Falcon Wing doors opening during the event. With the most storage space and towing capacity of any electric SUV, and seating for up to seven adults, the Tesla Model X delivers maximum utility for Lancaster Works’ EV initiative to improve their beneficiaries’ mobility and increase access to jobs while reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution”.

In the words of the ASSETS C.E.O, Tyrone Miller:
“We are humbled and honored by being chosen to partner with Green Mountain Energy and make an affirmative statement in favor of advancing environmental sustainability. It is our hope this partnership will exemplify the importance of Green Mountain Energy Sun Club’s vision to see all communities achieve long-term sustainability with the quality of life and environmental resources necessary to thrive.”

While, the Vice-President as well as the General Manager of Green Mountain Energy, Mark Parsons added:
“Green Mountain Energy’s goal with Sun Club grants is to promote sustainability in the community while at the same time supporting important causes. Nonprofit organizations understand better than anyone else their communities' needs and the best ways to meet them. With the addition of the two Tesla Model X, ASSETS increases its program capacity, saves funds for its core mission and reduces its environmental impact. This is a great example of what we are able to achieve by working with nonprofits.”
