We recently celebrated the conclusion of another successful growing season in the Associate Garden at our Marysville campus. With the dedication of our amazing captains, facilities team, and weekly volunteers, we were able to harvest an impressive 7,041 pounds of fresh produce. This bounty not only supported our local communities but also contributed to our onsite Scotts Café.
Teamwork in Action
Under the leadership of Content Manager Melissa Bond and Senior Scientist Amy Enfield, Ph.D., a team of weekly volunteers and garden captains from various SMG departments came together with a shared mission: to grow, educate, and give back. Their collective efforts yielded incredible results.
We are honored to collaborate with local organizations to ensure our harvests reach those who need them most:
Marysville Food Pantry, our primary partner, supports over 100 families weekly. Dublin Food Pantry serves approximately 1,000 visitors monthly, including 1,500 children and more than 300 senior citizens. Columbus Food Rescue delivers food to local pantries, incorporates it into meals in their kitchens, and hosts cooking classes. Teamwork in Action

A Tradition of Growing and Giving
Since 2009, the Associate Garden and R&D field trials have collectively produced nearly 75,000 pounds of fresh vegetables—over 37 tons! These donations have positively impacted countless families and individuals. That’s what we call growing for good.
The Associate Garden offers more than just food. Novice gardeners benefit from the expertise of our captains and volunteers, while seasoned growers enjoy opportunities to connect, learn, and experiment with new plants. This year’s standout? Giant corn!
