Lenovo Tops Fast Company's 2024 Best Workplaces for Innovators List

10/29/2024

Fast Company recently unveiled its sixth annual list of the Best Workplaces for Innovators, recognizing organizations that are dedicated to fostering innovation across all levels. Lenovo topped the list of the 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators and excelled in the artificial intelligence and robotics sector, largely due to its significant three-year investment of $2.2 billion aimed at enhancing its research and development centers, workforce training, and partnerships focused on AI advancements.

Notably, 25% of Lenovo's workforce is engaged in R&D, leading to breakthroughs such as an AI-driven sign language translation tool developed in collaboration with the Brazilian innovation hub CESAR.

The 2024 Best Workplaces for Innovators list features 100 winners from diverse sectors, including entertainment, biotech, consumer goods, marketing, education, and healthcare. To qualify for this recognition, all winners, along with several finalists, submitted applications detailing their projects, investments, company-wide initiatives, and workplace culture. Fast Company editors meticulously assessed each application and conducted additional research to assign scores to the companies. A separate panel of judges then evaluated the top 125 submissions to identify the overall winner, with Fast Company editors judging specific category applications.

Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Lenovo, stated, “Lenovo’s mission is straightforward: We are developing Smarter AI for All. Our versatile, robust, and responsible AI solutions are reshaping industries and empowering individuals, whether they are individuals, enterprises, or creators. As a global technology leader, we are committed to showcasing how AI can be harnessed for positive change, particularly in underrepresented communities, to illustrate its potential to transform lives.”

Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company, remarked, “Innovation is a universal priority that spans all industries, and this year’s list exemplifies that variety.” He noted that the top ten includes four companies based outside the United States and represents sectors such as technology, advertising, finance, biotech, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and nonprofits.
