The fifth corporate report of Liberty Global gives an outline of its area of focus in “connectivity, digital entertainment and technology”, wherein the company has invested and seeks to innovate and “empower people” for making the “most of the digital age”. “Supporting the CoderDojo Foundation, a global community of free coding clubs for children to enable the next generation of creators, and improving their long-term career prospects; “Helping start-up companies in Belgium and the UK break into the market so that they can improve lives, using tailored mentoring, networking, marketing and financing opportunities; “Protecting customers from malware through its partnership with Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit and global cyber security leader, Synopsys; “Joining the ICT Coalition for Children Online, which helps young people in Europe make the most of their digital lives, becoming better equipped to handle challenges and risks; “Reducing the company’s market-based carbon emissions by 10%, and improving its overall energy efficiency by 29% this year. Liberty Global is now 3x more carbon efficient than it was in 2012; “Joining the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers’ Energy 2020 program, creating energy management solutions by sharing best practices, setting standards and finding innovative ways for cable companies and vendors to manage energy use; and “Continuing Liberty Global’s partnership with global supply chain assessment specialist EcoVadis to implement a robust approach for assessing social and environmental performance of its suppliers”.
