Regions Bank Launches Share the Good Program Support Community Engagement Initiatives

04/23/2023

Regions Bank continues its tradition of Share the Good, an annual outreach program that complements the bank's year-round community engagement initiatives. For the 14th consecutive year, Regions volunteers are taking the opportunity to give back through meaningful activities planned throughout April, involving teams getting outside and engaging with their communities.

“Every year, we look for different ways to make a difference through Share the Good,” said Wendi Boyen, community advocacy and financial wellness manager for Regions.

“Right now, the weather is getting warmer, flowers and trees are blooming, and it’s the perfect time to get our teams together and get out into our neighborhoods, parks, and rivers and join community partners in sprucing things up for the season. It’s a great way of making a visible impact, and it deepens our relationships with organizations that support the quality of life in the communities we serve.”

Share the Good, an annual outreach program by Regions Bank, is a direct complement to the bank’s year-round focus on volunteer service. In 2022, Regions associates provided an impressive 74,000 hours of volunteerism through various programs, including Share the Good. These initiatives will continue through the end of April, with teams of Regions volunteers engaging in impactful activities in their local communities.

Some highlights of the program include the Regions Navy in Birmingham, Alabama, coming together to clean up the Cahaba River and support the Cahaba River Society. In Austin, Texas, volunteers will be helping students learn about conservation and STEM education using water purification kits provided by Elequa, a Regions community partner. In Cleveland, Tennessee, associates will be planting community gardens and sprucing up flower beds at City Fields, an initiative recently supported by a grant from the Alabama-based Regions Foundation.

In Pensacola, Florida, volunteers will be keeping the coastline clean and litter-free. Meanwhile, in Louis, Missouri, Regions Bank Market Executive Scott Hartwig is motivating his team with a tailgate lunch from his RV, and they will be removing trash and debris along the Mississippi Greenway at North Riverfront Park. Lastly, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Regions teams are volunteering at Arkansas State University’s Earth Day celebration, which hosts large crowds and offers programs around recycling, conservation, and earth-friendly practices. Regions is also supporting Jonesboro’s Great Outdoors Business Expo.

Regions is fostering a culture of community engagement, and to inspire participation, the bank is hosting a photo contest for its associates. Throughout April, submissions featuring Share the Good events with community partners will be showcased on the internal RegionsTV. At the end of the month, winners will be announced, and the winning entries will receive a donation to the community partner they collaborated with.

Beyond Share the Good, Regions offers various ongoing programs to encourage volunteerism, such as providing associates with a paid day off to volunteer in their community and connecting them with volunteerism opportunities that align with their skills and experience through its Making Life Better Institute.
