Revolutionizing Wheat Farming: Regenerative Agriculture Pilot Program with Griffith Foods

08/22/2024

In 2023, in collaboration with Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited, the Ontario Soil & Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA), and the Sustainable Food Lab, we introduced a pioneering pilot program aimed at advancing regenerative agriculture in wheat farming. This program is designed to improve land management and promote best practices among farmers, enhancing their resilience and productivity.

The initiative emphasizes techniques such as no-tillage, cover crops, and split nitrogen application. It also offers technical support, networking opportunities, financial assistance, and data collection to farmers transitioning to regenerative practices. This effort underscores our dedication to sustainability and responsible sourcing, serving as a catalyst for incorporating regenerative agriculture into our supply chain.

We are excited to extend the insights gained from this wheat pilot to more farmers in the region and to develop new regenerative projects for other crops.
