Taking sustainability and innovation “to heart” at LACC facility.

Dailycsr.com – 28 February 2018 – AEG Facilities manages the Los Angeles Convention Center, whereby the latter revealed about its “new 9,500 square-foot rooftop garden”, which is located on top of the “South Hall lobby” of LACC.

The said garden is home to different vegetables and citrus trees, the produce of which  goes to the “in-house caterer” of LACC, namely the Levy Restaurant. In the words the senior vice-president as well as the general manger of LACC, Brad Gessner:
“Sustainability and innovation are core values for AEG Facilities, and at the Los Angeles Convention Center we take this to heart. The idea for the rooftop garden has been developing over the past few years and we are thrilled with this addition to our facility.”

The recent rooftop addition is part of over thirty “environmentally friendly practices and procedures” which are being implemented at the LACC and are being managed by AEG Facilities. Among the other environmental friendly practices are conserving water and energy, consistently increasing “waste diversions rates”, indulging in “in-house goods” purchase in a responsible manner besides demonstrating “leadership to local real estate and broad convention center communities”.
