Schools To Tackle Lunch Debt With Hormel Foods’ Donations

12/31/2019

Hormel Foods Corporation has named the schools selected from its operational communities for receiving donations to help children with hunger-relief.

Dailycsr.com – 31 December 2019 – Hormel Foods Corporation donates more than “$28,000” for helping families and schools that are located in “six of its plant communities”. There are plans of expanding the same in the future to “other plant communities” wherein the company operates.

In fact, most of the schools receiving donations from Hormel, will use the money to erase “all school lunch debt”. In the words of the company’s President, C.E.O as well as the Chairperson of the board, Jim Snee:
“As a global branded food company, we know that kids need proper nutrition to excel in the classroom. Through these donations, we hope to ease the burden on families in our plant communities this holiday season. This gift helps us give back to those communities where we live and work.”

Here is the list of the schools that will receive donations from Hormel Foods, as mentioned by the company:
Austin (Minn.) Public Schools; Dubuque (Iowa) Community School District; Knoxville (Iowa) Community School District (Angel Fund); Sixteen schools in the Tucker, Georgia, area; West St. Paul – Mendota Heights – Eagan (Minn.) Area Schools (Angel Fund); and Three elementary schools in Wichita, Kansas.

The donated amount will be handed over to the above mentioned schools through checks in January 2020. While Snee added:
“We are truly honored to be able to make this contribution to help others and look forward to helping additional families and schools in our plant communities in the future”.
