Verizon Foundation Donates $1M for Southern California Fire and Storm Relief
The Verizon Foundation is providing $1 million in donations to aid communities impacted by the recent fires and windstorms in Southern California. These contributions are aimed at offering vital resources and assistance to both the community and firefighters.
Half of the total, $500,000, will go to the American Red Cross, while the other half will be donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation (LAFD). The Red Cross funds will support emergency relief efforts in the LA region, while the LAFD donation will help cover the costs of essential equipment for firefighters, such as hydration packs, wildland brush tools, and emergency fire shelters.
Donna Epps, Verizon’s Chief Responsible Business Officer, expressed, "The fires and windstorms are truly devastating, and the Verizon Foundation is stepping up quickly to provide support to those in urgent need. We are partnering with the American Red Cross and the LAFD Foundation to help these communities recover and keep people safe."
