Lenovo's Commitment to Climate Change Mitigation and ESG Leadership

Lenovo acknowledges the role of human activities in driving climate change and aligns with the conclusions of contemporary climate science as outlined in the latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The company recognizes that, if unaddressed, current climate change trends pose significant economic and societal risks. Lenovo agrees that urgent and targeted actions are necessary to stabilize greenhouse gas (GHG) levels in the atmosphere and limit global temperature increases to acceptable thresholds.

To address these challenges, Lenovo is actively working to mitigate climate risks both within its operations and through external initiatives. The company is dedicated to reducing the global carbon footprint of its activities and has demonstrated this commitment through:

Lenovo’s Chief Legal & Corporate Responsibility Officer leads the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts, including its climate change programs. The ESG Executive Oversight Committee (EOC), chaired by the same officer, provides strategic guidance and ensures the alignment of ESG initiatives across the organization.

This committee includes senior leaders from various business and functional areas and is tasked with fostering a culture of robust ESG performance, encompassing compliance and leadership activities. Regular updates on ESG matters, including discussions held by the EOC, are presented to the Board and its committees.

The Board plays a critical role in evaluating and overseeing ESG priorities, including climate change. Focused discussions on these topics help the Board make informed decisions that consider long-term risks and opportunities affecting stakeholders and the business. At least once a year, the Board is updated on Lenovo’s ESG key performance indicators (KPIs), climate strategy, and progress toward its climate change mitigation objectives.
