Boosting Climate-Smart Farming in Georgia: Support for Black & Brown Farmers

Implementing climate-smart agricultural practices can enhance productivity on Georgia farms while also improving soil health to capture more carbon from the atmosphere. However, shifting away from traditional farming methods can feel costly and uncertain for many farmers.

To support this transition, Georgia Organics and McIntosh Sustainable, Environmental, and Economic Development (McIntosh S.E.E.D.) have formed an innovative partnership to provide Black and Brown farmers in coastal Georgia with technical guidance and assistance in securing grants. This initiative is helping farmers adopt climate-smart techniques, leading to healthier soils and more sustainable farming operations.
