HARMAN Unveils Next-Gen Automotive Technology at CES 2025: Smart, Personalized In-Vehicle Experiences

01/14/2025

Imagine stepping into a car that not only reacts to your commands but understands your needs, adjusts to your preferences, and creates a personalized environment that connects with you in a unique way. HARMAN, a leader in automotive technology and a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., is bringing this vision to life. At CES 2025, HARMAN will reveal the next phase of its innovative technologies—an array of intelligent, context-aware products that are transforming the driving experience.

The automotive industry is experiencing a revolution in consumer technology. Drivers and passengers now expect more than just reliable performance; they demand seamless, personalized experiences similar to those offered by the smart devices they use daily. HARMAN has been a pioneer in this area, turning vehicles into connected hubs with responsive, in-cabin technologies. Products like Ready Upgrade, Ready Care, and Ready Display infuse vehicles with a "brain," "senses," and a "voice." More recently, HARMAN has introduced innovations like Seat Sonic for immersive sound, Ready Vision for augmented reality displays, and Ready Connect for comprehensive connectivity.

Now, HARMAN is taking this transformation even further. At CES 2025, the company will unveil new advancements in its Ready product portfolio, making cars smarter and more empathetic.

One of the key innovations is "Luna," an avatar powered by Ready Engage, a new emotionally intelligent AI system. "Luna" personalizes interactions using voice and visuals, creating a natural and intuitive connection between the vehicle and its occupants. Integrated with Ready Vision products, including the award-winning QVUE windshield display, it offers augmented reality features like dynamic street visualizations and transparent hood views to enhance safety, comfort, and interaction. The Ready Engage system is fully customizable by automakers, allowing for a deeply personalized in-cabin experience that responds to the needs of each individual.

HARMAN’s Ready Upgrade cockpit domain controllers and central compute unit (CCU) platforms power these innovations. These platforms act as the "brain" behind intelligent in-cabin systems, enabling seamless integration of products like Ready Engage into vehicles. Ready Upgrade reduces development time and costs, offering software updates every three months and vehicle launch updates in as little as six months. HARMAN's collaboration with HL Klemove takes this further by developing a lightweight CCU based on HARMAN’s Ready Upgrade and HL Klemove’s Level 2 software stack and ADAS sensor set, offering automakers quicker time to market and the flexibility to customize their vehicles.

"HARMAN is leading the way in automotive technology by creating deeply contextual in-cabin experiences that adapt to user states and situations," said Armin Prommersberger, Chief Technology Officer at HARMAN International. "Our portfolio of intelligent solutions is the most comprehensive in the industry, helping OEMs create differentiation and engage customers in deeper, more meaningful ways."

At CES 2025, HARMAN will showcase its newest products, designed to work individually or as part of an integrated solution. Highlights include:

A New Era of Safety and Comfort
HARMAN’s Ready portfolio brings vehicles to life with systems that understand and adapt to driver and passenger needs. Ready Care, an in-cabin monitoring system, uses AI and neuroscience to assess cognitive load, visual attention, and breathing rate to detect distractions or drowsiness, offering real-time interventions to reduce stress and improve focus. Additionally, Ready Aware, a vehicle-to-network (V2N) software-as-a-service product, uses machine learning to deliver alerts about potential road hazards, enhancing safety and decision-making. HARMAN’s Ready Display, powered by Samsung Neo QLED, now features improved brightness for optimal visibility in various lighting conditions.

Connected Mobility—Anytime, Anywhere
HARMAN’s Ready Connect suite ensures reliable connectivity, even in remote areas, with upgrades from 4G to 5G and eventually to satellite communication. Ready Connect helps keep vehicles connected, supporting entertainment, productivity, and situational awareness, and offering a more responsive and personalized driving experience.

Your Software and Implementation Partner for Automotive Intelligence
HARMAN’s Ready Link Marketplace provides automakers with in-car apps, services, and features that enable recurring revenue and extend vehicle lifecycles. With over 150 apps and features like predictive adaptive cruise control, automakers can offer personalized experiences. HARMAN Automotive Engineering Services (AES) helps streamline integration, ensuring efficient deployment of software-driven products and accelerating time-to-market.

Shaping the Future of Contextually Intelligent In-Vehicle Experiences
HARMAN’s Ready portfolio transforms in-cabin experiences with solutions that adapt to the changing needs of consumers and automakers. Combining Samsung’s consumer-tech expertise with HARMAN’s automotive innovations, the company is positioned to lead the way in delivering intuitive, empathetic technologies for today’s and tomorrow’s vehicles.

These products will be showcased at the Las Vegas Convention Center during CES 2025.
