The Central New York Chapter of KeyBank's Key4Women hosted its annual breakfast forum on Wednesday, October 9th, at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse. The keynote address was delivered by Theresa Slater, President and CEO of Empire Interpreting Service, a language service company that works with clients both domestically and internationally. Empire provides both on-site and virtual services, specializing in Sign Language and Spoken Language interpretation. During her talk, Slater shared the story of how she expanded her business from a home office in 2003 into a multi-location, comprehensive language service provider.

At the event, Slater was recognized as the 2024 Key4Women Achieve Award recipient. This award celebrates women business leaders for their professional achievements and their contributions to the Central New York community. Open to KeyBank clients, the award is presented annually to a female leader who has excelled in her field, demonstrated community leadership, and supported other women in the region. In her honor, KeyBank also donated $2,500 to the WISE Women’s Business Center, an organization that helps women entrepreneurs in Central New York to launch and grow their businesses.
