Sofidel USA Partners with CHUM & Goodwill to Support Duluth Community
Sofidel USA is pleased to share the success of its collaboration with two local organizations, CHUM (Churches United in Ministry) and Goodwill, in supporting individuals and families in need within the Duluth community. Through this joint effort, essential hygiene products have been donated to help those facing hardship.
The initiative began when Sofidel’s Circleville mill shipped eight pallets of toilet tissue, hard wound towels, and kitchen towels to the Duluth Mill. Recognizing the importance of these supplies, Sofidel reached out to CHUM with an offer to donate. While CHUM was deeply appreciative of the contribution, they soon realized that managing the logistics of such a large donation would be challenging.
To help facilitate the process, CHUM partnered with Goodwill. Dedicated to serving the community, Goodwill provided storage space for the products and assisted in transporting them from Sofidel’s Circleville mill to their warehouse. Once stored, Goodwill will oversee the distribution of these essential items to various CHUM programs, including St. Francis Apartments, the Drop-In Center, and the emergency shelter program, ensuring they reach those who need them most.
"We are incredibly thankful to Sofidel, CHUM, and Goodwill for working together to supply these much-needed hygiene products to the community," said Tim Solomon, a key member of Sofidel’s loading team. "It was truly a team effort, and we are proud to have contributed to this meaningful initiative."
