The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation, in collaboration with the National Head Start Association (NHSA), is excited to announce the upcoming Fall Storytime event. The 2024 Fall Garden Storytime will be held live on November 14 at 1 p.m. EST. This 30-minute session, co-hosted by KidsGardening—another partner of the SMG Foundation—will feature:
- Story: Runaway Pumpkins by Teresa Bateman
- Sing Along: Do You Know How Pumpkins Grow?
During the event, Sarah Pounders and Pinky Jackalope will share garden-themed stories with a social-emotional focus, along with a show-and-tell segment featuring fascinating plants. The session promises to be engaging for both students and teachers. With a fall theme, it will offer insights into the various sizes and shapes of pumpkins and explore how pumpkins can be transformed into delicious treats.
Registration for the storytime is open to all, providing an interactive experience, gardening tips, and classroom resources aligned with the seasonal school year calendar.
“We’re thrilled to spotlight these seasonal storytimes alongside our NHSA GroMoreGood Garden grants,” said Katherine Dickens, Director of ESG and Social Impact. “This educational and fun opportunity is available to Head Start families and anyone else who wishes to join. We encourage you to share this resource with friends and family.”
