Celebrate the 2025 Year of the Snake with U.S. Bank: Calendars, Red Envelopes & Community Events
2025 marks the Year of the Snake, specifically the Wood Snake, and U.S. Bank is celebrating this significant cultural event across its branches with employees, clients, and communities. The two-week Chinese New Year holiday kicks off on January 29, and the bank is continuing its tradition of supporting the celebration with red envelopes and custom-designed calendars.

“The Year of the Snake symbolizes wisdom, mystery, introspection, and elegance,” said Sekou Kaalund, EVP and head of Branch and Small Business Banking at U.S. Bank.

“We’re excited to offer red envelopes and calendars at our branches to help clients and communities embrace this culturally important time. Additionally, we will participate in celebrations throughout cities like Chicago, Seattle, and California throughout January and February.”

U.S. Bank is distributing exclusive 2025 Year of the Snake calendars and red envelopes featuring the theme “Journey of the Snake” at select branches, while supplies last. A printable version of the calendar is available on the bank’s website, and downloadable desktop and mobile wallpapers featuring January and February art are also accessible.

The calendar artwork, designed by Hongly Nguyen from San Jose, California, a Vietnamese American artist, was inspired by the themes of unity and warmth for the new year. “I want my art to create a feeling of togetherness and celebration, embodying the spirit of Lunar New Year,” Nguyen explained.

U.S. Bank is also offering digital red envelopes for clients to send lucky money through Zelle® via the U.S. Bank Mobile App. The service is free for U.S. Bank clients and makes it easy to share this tradition with loved ones, regardless of distance.

To help everyone start the year with financial confidence, U.S. Bank offers in-person and digital services, including learning modules and appointments with bankers. The bank is also partnering with community organizations to support Lunar New Year events, such as festivals, parades, and cultural celebrations across the country, including in California, Chicago, and Seattle.

On January 24, 2025, U.S. Bank will be distributing pastries at select branch locations in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Chicago while supplies last. The bank continues its commitment to supporting Asian communities through partnerships with organizations like the Chinatown Community Development Corporation, Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment, and the Chinese American Service League.
