MAC Cosmetics lends supports to transgenders
M.A.C Cosmetics was proud to support The Ali Forney Center's inaugural WE ARE FAMILY DANCE-A-THON in honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance.
The event, which took place on Transgender Day of Remembrance, Sunday, November 20th, not only honored the lives lost to transphobia, but also served as a fundraiser to ensure that homeless LGBTQIA+ youth in New York City have access to meals this holiday season. The high-energy fundraiser, which featured celebrated trans performers such as Eva Reign and Junior Mintt, was attended by MAC artists and employees.
Since 2010, M.A.C. has supported The Ali Forney Center through M.A.C. VIVA GLAM, the brand's philanthropic lipstick line in which 100% of the selling price is donated to organizations supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, women and girls, and those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
The DANCE-A-THON event raised more than $530,000, and MAC's sponsorship alone provided 2,000 meals to LGBTQIA+ youth in need!
