Catalyze Program: Edwards Joins Schneider Electric for Semiconductor Decarbonization

Schneider Electric, renowned for its leadership in driving the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced that Edwards is now part of the Catalyze program. Edwards joins not only as a Tier One supplier to the program’s founding corporate sponsors but also as an additional corporate sponsor.

By participating in the program, Edwards aims to decarbonize its energy sources for its own operations and extend these benefits to its suppliers, thus broadening the program's impact to include Tier Two suppliers of some founding sponsors. 

Edwards, a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced vacuum products, exhaust management systems, and semiconductor services, directly supplies many of the Catalyze program’s founding corporate sponsors. John Powers, Vice President of Global Renewable at Schneider Electric, highlighted that the Catalyze program fosters collaboration among corporate sponsors and their suppliers to achieve collective decarbonization goals. He emphasized Edwards' proactive approach in developing environmentally friendly products and solutions for the semiconductor industry. 

Koen Lauwers, President of the Semiconductor Division at Edwards, expressed pride in joining the initiative to decarbonize the semiconductor value chain, positioning the company as a leader in industry transformation for a sustainable future. John Golightly, Vice President Global Head of Sustainability at ASM, welcomed Edwards into the program, emphasizing the industry's commitment to accelerating the adoption of renewable energy. 

The Catalyze program, launched in July 2023, aims to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy across the global semiconductor value chain and IT supply landscape. Its objectives include consolidating energy purchasing power, providing opportunities for suppliers to engage in utility-scale power purchase agreements, expanding participation to companies supplying Catalyze sponsors, increasing awareness of renewable energy availability, and leveraging educational and digital platforms to drive supply chain decarbonization efforts.
