One such resource is the revamp of Covia’s internal network. The Communications team aimed to develop a platform for employees to enhance communication, collaborate on concepts, provide feedback, stimulate discussion, and share knowledge, expertise, and experiences with others across different departments and locations.
In July 2023, we introduced our new internal network. Since its launch, Covia employees, whether at the office or home, have been able to access the necessary information and tools to perform their duties effectively and efficiently. We take pride in having a unified platform that is extensively used across all our local and international sites. As stated by Amanda Meehan, Director of Corporate Communications,
"The most effective internal networks are digital spaces where individuals can interact with each other and access tools and information. Our aim is to create an essential central resource that also acts as a hub for the Covia community, and it’s been delightful to witness how eagerly our diverse Covia team has welcomed the potential of the new internal network.”
We are delighted that Covia’s efforts have been recognized with the 2023 Digital Transformation Award for Best Intranet Launch from Igloo Software, our internal network platform provider. According to Igloo, “The annual awards program acknowledges Igloo customers who have constructed advanced digital workplaces and those who continue to expand their digital destinations with the depth and support to evolve with their business objectives. Igloo is proud to congratulate all the nominees and winners for their ongoing efforts to create a more connected, productive, and engaged workplace.”
Since its launch, the emphasis has been on enhancing the site’s role as a resource and a community. The site’s success and rapid development are due to the efforts and support of all Covia team members. We are gratified to be acknowledged for our efforts, but we are even more gratified that the site is being utilized and perceived in such a positive manner. We believe our internal network can play a significant role in promoting employee engagement and helping all our team members take pride in being part of our company.
