KitchenAid Partners with Michigan Hospitality Foundation to Support Education
The Michigan Hospitality Foundation (MHF) has entered into a three-year partnership with Whirlpool Corporation’s KitchenAid brand to promote hospitality education throughout Michigan. The collaboration was officially launched by KitchenAid during the MHF’s annual educator professional development workshop, which took place on August 8th at Boyne Mountain.

As part of the partnership, KitchenAid will host webinars and training for teachers, as well as donate stand mixers and other products to Michigan schools to support education and further instructional workshops. MHF will retain ten KitchenAid stand mixers for future in-person instruction and competitions, and will also purchase Pasta Roller & Cutter attachments to distribute to schools along with the stand mixers. KitchenAid will also sponsor the Pasta Competition at the 2024 ProStart Invitational, and students will have the opportunity to attend the 2024 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship event and cook with world-renowned chefs in the KitchenAid activation.

“This partnership will drive student and educator learning and engagement in the hospitality industry,” said Amanda Smith, executive director of the Michigan Hospitality Foundation.

“We’re excited to be working alongside the KitchenAid brand and to support Michigan students interested in pursuing a culinary or hospitality career.”

“KitchenAid is pleased to partner with The Michigan Hospitality Foundation to support its effort in fostering the hospitality industry” said Chad Ries, KitchenAid small appliances global brand director. “We hope our partnership further develops the next generation of culinary professionals through hands-on education across the state.”

In Michigan, the hospitality industry is worth $18 billion and supports 595,000 jobs. It is also a rapidly growing industry, ranking among the top 10 fastest growing sectors in the state, with 20,000 job openings currently available. This indicates that there is significant potential for further growth in this industry.

“Our industry is growing and evolving rapidly and this partnership, combined with our hands-on programming, are helping to build stronger resources for Michigan schools while also helping them engage with hospitality leaders across the state,” said Smith.
