Join the Whirlpool Foundation as we celebrate our second year supporting the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT) STEM event - Girls Rock IT. This spring, local girls from grades 2-8 immersed themselves in the exciting realms of coding and app development. Elementary students explored coding using Scratch, while middle schoolers created their own apps with MIT App Inventor - all in just one day!
Parents and guardians were encouraged to participate, with many attending a session on Internet Safety and Careers in Technology to better support their daughters' tech aspirations.
With a strong demand for tech talent and women still underrepresented in the field, Whirlpool Foundation remains dedicated to showcasing inspirational role models from Whirlpool Corp. IT and helping young girls unlock the potential of promising tech careers in Michigan.
