03/10/2021

The Whole Planet Foundation creates a virtual platform for the fans to meet artists while the proceeds are dedicated to a cause of poverty alleviation.

Dailycsr.com – 10 March 2021 – Women artists collaborated in an online concert that was presented by “URSA Live” on March 7, 2021 from “6-8pm CST”. The “General Admission tickets” were priced at “$10” while the fans as well as supporters were given the chance for virtual interaction with the artists through a “limited $35 VIP Meet & Greet tickets”.

Enlisting the names of the artists, Whole Planet Foundation wrote:
“2021 GRAMMY-nominee Debi Nova from Costa Rica, singer and actress Andy Allo, star of the Amazon Original series Upload, GRAMMY-nominated Irish singer-songwriter RuthAnne and recording artist Whitney McClain”.

The artists came together to raise funds for “poverty alleviation” besides spreading awareness on the same. Moreover, the same was in honour of “International Women’s Day” while Whole Planet Foundation collaborated with the event to “fund women entrepreneurs”.

The proceeds thus received will fund the “microlending” programmes of Whole Planet Foundation whereby alleviating poverty of women entrepreneurs across the U.S. and “76 other countries”. In Debo Nova’s words before the show:
“In 2015, I was happy to perform at the Whole Planet Foundation pre-GRAMMY Party in Los Angeles and learned how Whole Planet Foundation empowers women and families in Costa Rica and around the world. This year, I am excited to visit local women entrepreneurs near my home in Guanacaste who are funded through their microfinance partner, Asociacion Costa Rica Grameen.  These women are strong and resilient especially during the challenges of the pandemic.  They have superpowers like in my song ‘Superpoderes’”.

While, talking about collaborating with Whole Planet Foundation, Andy Allo added:
“I have supported Whole Planet Foundation since 2014 and with some fun and organic performances at their Pre-Grammy parties and in Whole Foods Market stores, pre-pandemic of course. Soon after I started supporting, the Foundation started funding microcredit in Cameroon where I was born. It has since funded many women entrepreneurs like Margaret, a local weaver who makes raffia mats and dolls, and their families in Cameroon”.
