Network and First Responder Support Updates
As wildfires persist, our teams are working to restore critical connectivity where possible. Here’s the latest:
- We continue deploying heavy-duty mobile equipment, including Satellite Cell on Light Trucks (SatCOLTs) and Satellite Cell on Wheels (SatCOWs) to support first responders and communities in areas such as:
- Pacific Palisades (Los Angeles Fire Department Station 23 and Station 69)
- Multiple locations along the Pacific Coast Highway near Las Floras and Topanga Beach
- Several sites in Altadena (Loma Alta Park, East Altadena Dr., and Lake Ave.)
- Our teams are also deploying generators, VSATs (portable satellite solutions), and microwave equipment to restore connectivity where local fiber and permanent generators were damaged by the fires.
- To ensure first responders have fast and reliable communication, we’ve activated T-Priority and Wireless Priority Service on devices and eSIMs, allowing them to receive consistent 5G speeds and priority during high traffic periods.
- Wi-Fi routers are being set up at multiple locations to provide high-speed data, including:
- Incident Command Posts at Zuma Beach and The Rose Bowl, supporting various emergency services
- Pasadena City Hall and Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD)
- Community lifelines, including local grocery stores
