Dailycsr.com – 28 November 2019 – In an announcement, Sodexo revealed that the “United States Marine Corps”, in short USMC, East Coast operations have received a “Platinum Award”. The said recognition came through the “HIRE Vets Medallion Award Program”, the only award for “federal-level veterans’ employment” which identifies organisation for their commitment towards hiring and retaining veterans and developing their professional side.

This prestigious award proves that veterans prefer Sodexo while the “U.S. Department of Labor” values the said honour. Under the “HIRE Vets Act” or the “Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017”, the Secretary of Labour needed to create a programme that recognised the recruitment efforts made by employers towards veteran employment and retention.

The employers who applied for the award and met with the “established criteria” get the “HIRE Vets Medallion Award”. In the words of the Human Resource’s Vice-President for “Sodexo Government, North America”, Kim Mullahey:
“As the largest federal government foodservice provider and a company that serves members from all military branches on a daily basis, Sodexo keenly understands the incredible value veterans bring to the workforce. Not only are we proud of our work hiring veterans, we created programs and initiatives designed specifically to attract veterans to our company and retain them once on board. The HIRE Vets Medallion Award validates those efforts.”

Sodexo along with rest of the 2019 winners of this award received a formal recognition during a ceremony which was held in Washington, D.C. Representative from Sodexo, Ready-DiGiovanni, PHR of its “East Coast USMC Operations”, was given “a framed medallion certificate” signed by the U.S. Secretary of Labour, Eugene Scalia.
