Pride House Paris 2024: Celebrating Inclusion at Olympics & Paralympics
Pride House Paris 2024 will serve as a vibrant hub of activity and celebration during this summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games, situated at the Péniche Rosa Bonheur on the Seine. In alignment with its ongoing mission to champion equity, inclusivity, and respect for diversity, Pride House Paris 2024 recently showcased its comprehensive legacy promoting inclusive sports and fostering a sense of unity on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

"In the Olympic Games, all individuals are treated equally without discrimination," emphasized Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). "This embodies the core essence of the Games and the Olympic Village, where athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees and the IOC Refugee Olympic Team coexist harmoniously under one roof."

Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet underscored, "Inclusion, openness, and respect for all are fundamental to the values of sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As host of the world's largest sporting event, Paris 2024 is dedicated to enhancing societal inclusivity and combating discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender, both locally and globally."

He added, "We take pride in presenting Pride House Paris 2024 as a dynamic venue for life, celebration, and advocacy."

An essential first step towards its enduring impact was the launch of its research laboratory in January, consisting of three working groups aimed at offering practical solutions for sports organizations striving to enhance inclusivity. Each group collaborates with Pride House partners and guest speakers to share field expertise, with outcomes set to be unveiled at a special event in July.

As a legacy initiative of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Organizing Committee and Fier-Play are committed to leveraging the Games' momentum to drive enduring social and cultural change in the sporting landscape of France and beyond.

The IOC's involvement in Pride House marks a significant milestone, forming a historic partnership that positions Pride House Paris 2024 as the first to receive such endorsement. This groundbreaking collaboration opens new avenues for advancing LGBTI+ inclusion in sports globally.

Pride House International defines a Pride House as a welcoming and inclusive venue at major sports events, aiming to combat discrimination and increase visibility of LGBTI+ individuals in sports. It offers a diverse program blending festivities, culture, sports, and education to promote universal access to sports without bias.

Located aboard the Péniche Rosa Bonheur on the Seine, Pride House Paris 2024 will serve as a stationary hub during the Games, complemented by a mobile version visiting various Olympic sites around Paris, and a digital platform ensuring accessibility for all.
