The commitment of Las Vegas Sands remains steady towards the planet in a search of “sustainable lifestyle” throughout its properties exhibiting “outstanding efforts in Green Meetings”, which even earned the recognition of the award of the “Best Green Initiative”.
Northstar Meetings Group has started the new “Stella Awards”, whereby combining the “long-running” events like “Pinnacle Awards (from Successful Meetings), Gold Key Awards (from Meetings & Conventions), and Gold Platter Awards (from Meetings & Conventions)”. The Meetings Industry’s excellence yard sticks were these awards which honoured the ones that brought in “quality service and innovation to meetings and events”.
According to Las Vegas Sands:
“The presentation and quality of services provided to our guests are top priorities in the company, taking pride in being innovative in several aspects within the Integrated Resorts. As the most sustainable leading hospitality company in the world, we take the extra step in offering sustainable options to clients, most notably through our ‘Green Meetings Concierge’.”
Furthermore, “custom sustainability initiatives” are being designed by the group in an attempt to address the “unique” goals and needs of every event as well as meeting. In this endeavour, whether it is the food or the wellness of the guests or even “documenting sustainable actions” with the help of “Green Actions Selfie Contest” encourage client collaboration which promotes “new ideas”. For encouraging students who took part in the IMEX America 2017’s “Future Leaders Forum”, they were given a “Clean Plate Challenge”, whereby making them aware of waste of food during lunch, while the prizes of the said challenge were “given in a drawing”.
The six “Stella Awards” were “Best Hotel/Resort, Best Gaming Property, Best Décor/Design Hotel, Best Food and Beverage, Best On-Site Support Staff, and Best Green Initiative” which were awarded to all the three properties, “The Venetian, The Palazzo, and Sands Expo”. “The properties were also finalists for Best Renovation, within the past year”.
Las Vegas Business Press has awarded the “Green Leaders Awards” to “The Venetian, The Palazzo, and Sands Expo”, while all the three properties also received Las Vegas Business Week’s “Best Recycling Program”, Southern Nevada Water Authority’s “Water Hero Award”, along with Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s “Club Ride Program Star Employer Award”. “They (The Venetian, The Palazzo, and Sands Expo) are also recognized as an APEX/ASTM ‘Environmentally Sustainable Meeting Standards, Venue Level Two Certification,’ as well as LEED Gold Certified for Sands Expo and Congress Center and LEED Silver Certified for The Palazzo”.
