Save on Summer Energy Bills with Entergy Texas Bill Management Tools

Save on Summer Energy Bills with Entergy Texas Bill Management Tools
Over the past two summers, Southeast Texas has experienced record-high temperatures, resulting in increased electricity usage and higher monthly bills. Entergy Texas is dedicated to helping customers stay cool and reduce costs this summer through various bill management tools and customer support initiatives.

To assist with this, Entergy Texas has introduced an online Bill Toolkit, a comprehensive resource that connects customers with tools for managing bills, improving energy efficiency, and accessing financial aid. This toolkit offers practical tips for lowering electricity consumption and reducing expenses.

“With the heat index consistently surpassing 100 degrees this summer, we recognize that many of our customers are using more electricity to stay cool, often for extended periods,” said Stuart Barrett, vice president of customer service at Entergy Texas. “Since heating and cooling typically make up over 50% of an average customer’s monthly electric bill, we developed the Bill Toolkit to help customers better manage their energy use and provide financial support to those in need.”

Monitor your energy consumption
Tools like myAdvisor enable customers to set alerts for electricity usage and track their daily energy consumption. By monitoring usage over time, customers can identify habits that lead to higher consumption and manage their monthly expenses more effectively. The myAdvisor dashboard provides access to usage and cost details, billing history, bill projections, analysis tools, and more.

Manage your bills your way
Entergy Texas offers a range of flexible payment options, allowing customers to choose when, where, and how they receive and pay their bills:
  • Pick-A-Date allows customers to select a payment date that suits them best.
  • Level Billing smooths out seasonal fluctuations in energy use, resulting in more consistent monthly bills.
  • PaperFREE billing enables customers to receive bills via email and provides instant access to two years of billing history.
  • AutoPay helps customers avoid late fees and the hassle of writing checks by automatically deducting payments from their bank accounts.

Customers interested in deferred payment plans or payment extensions can visit the mobile app or myEntergy to check eligibility. For additional payment options, they can call 1-800-ENTERGY (1-800-368-3749) and follow the billing and payment menu through the automated response system.

Customer support events
Entergy Texas has recently undertaken several initiatives as part of its annual Beat the Heat program, aimed at helping low-income customers and communities stay cool and manage their bills. In June, the company donated 2,000 box fans to 36 cities and agencies across Southeast Texas, up from 1,300 fans distributed in 2023. The company also organized energy efficiency events in neighborhoods, offering free A/C tune-ups and energy efficiency upgrades to residents in the Port Arthur and Navasota areas.

Access financial assistance
Entergy Texas collaborates with local and state organizations to connect eligible customers with financial assistance, including:
  • The Power to Care program offers emergency bill payment assistance to seniors and customers with disabilities.
  • Single Stop provides a quick and confidential way for customers to check eligibility for federal, state, and local financial assistance.
  • The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) offers financial aid for energy bills and other energy-related costs.
