Webster Bank Welcomes Kelly Giordano as Managing Director of Philanthropy

Webster Bank has recently welcomed Kelly Giordano as the new Managing Director of Philanthropy. She is now part of the Office of Corporate Responsibility team, which is responsible for the Bank’s Community Investment Strategy, worth $6.5 billion over several years.

Giordano’s responsibilities include overseeing the Bank’s philanthropic strategy, grantmaking programs, and community sponsorships. She will also be in charge of the Webster Bank Charitable Foundation’s activities and lead bankwide initiatives such as the Bank’s United Way Workplace Campaign.

Marissa Weidner, Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, stated that Giordano brings a wealth of experience to Webster, having held senior positions in corporate philanthropy at Newman’s Own and Lehman Brothers. Weidner added that they are excited to utilize Giordano’s expertise to enhance Webster’s philanthropic and community engagement efforts.

Giordano has nearly 25 years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit, and finance/corporate sectors. Before joining Webster, she worked as a consultant for Wellness in the Schools and Connecticut Public Broadcasting. She also spent more than 10 years as Managing Director at Newman’s Own Foundation, where she managed the organization’s global grants budget. Earlier in her career, Giordano worked as a vice president in Lehman Brothers’ Corporate Philanthropy group and as Assistant Treasurer of The Lehman Brothers Foundation. During her time there, she developed and managed the firm’s Employee Giving Campaign and Nonprofit Board Placement program.

Giordano holds a bachelor’s degree in economics/finance and Spanish from Bucknell University. She previously served on the board of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy and was Vice Chair of the Norwalk Education Foundation.
