For the 17th year in a row, U.S. Bank has achieved a perfect score of 100 on the 2023 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) conducted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This index is a leading national survey that evaluates corporate policies and practices concerning LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
The CEI assesses companies based on four key pillars: • Protection of employees • Provision of inclusive benefits • Promotion of an inclusive culture • Commitment to corporate social responsibility
Greg Cunningham, U.S. Bank’s Chief Diversity Officer, stated that the CEI serves as a crucial benchmark for the bank, reflecting its commitment to fostering inclusivity for its employees, customers, and communities. He attributed this honor to the bank’s ongoing efforts to cater to the needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
U.S. Bank demonstrates its support for the LGBTQ+ community through partnerships with nonprofits, participation in community events, and by offering products and services designed to meet the community’s specific needs. The bank provides its LGBTQ+ employees with benefits and workplace programs, including an LGBTQ+ business resource group, secure and confidential support circles for employees to connect with colleagues undergoing similar life experiences, and encourages the use of personal pronouns.
