Understanding Embodied Emissions in Sustainable Construction
Human activities contribute significantly to increasing temperatures, carbon emissions, and decreasing biodiversity. In response, the construction industry is adopting more sustainable practices in both building and renovation to address climate challenges and resource shortages. This shift has introduced a range of new terms, which this podcast aims to clarify.
 
In this episode, we explore embodied emissions—the carbon associated with the materials used in constructing a building. While modern buildings are becoming more energy-efficient, the proportion of embodied carbon over the building’s lifespan is rising.
