23 year old Nedd Brockmann, an electrician by profession, is making an attempt at a world record: he is attempting to become the fastest person to cross Australia on foot in order to raise $1 million for the homeless; his efforts have captured the hearts and minds of the Australian public and media and has encouraged Australians to walk 1 million kilometers together.
Among the main brands supporting the attempt are PUMA and CASE Construction, a brand of CNH Industrial.
In this attempt, Brockmann is trying to break the world record for the fastest race ever run in Australia; according to the website Fastest KnownTime, the current record stands at 43 days – a Guinness World Record.
Departing from Cottesloe Beach on September 1, Perth Brockmann began his journey to BondiBeach, Sydney with the goal of running 100km daily for 40 days to complete the 3,800km journey. This is equivalent to running two marathons a day.
