Camp Millionaire: Empowering Malaysia's Youth with Financial Literacy
FWD Insurance Berhad and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) have achieved a major milestone in their mission to improve financial literacy among Malaysia's youth. The Camp Millionaire programme, launched on December 6, concluded its first phase with a grand finale on December 7. This nationwide initiative is designed to equip primary school students with essential financial knowledge and skills.

Camp Millionaire, developed by financial education experts Little Tauke, brought together 100 top-performing students from various schools. The programme offered an engaging and hands-on approach to financial management, enabling participants to apply their newfound knowledge and serve as advocates for financial literacy within their communities.

The "Know Your Money" programme, a collaboration between FWD Insurance, BSN, and Little Tauke, has already reached over 1,000 students across 20 schools, spanning both urban and rural areas. This effort aligns with Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM) mandate to enhance financial literacy nationwide and highlights FWD Insurance's commitment to financial inclusion.

By leveraging BSN's extensive school network and Little Tauke's expertise, the programme provides students aged 10 to 12 with vital financial skills, laying a strong foundation for their future financial stability.

Mak See Sen, CEO of FWD Insurance, emphasized the importance of the initiative: "At FWD, we aim to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge to thrive and live life to the fullest. Our partnership with BSN and Little Tauke exemplifies our vision of financial literacy as a key to a brighter future. This collaboration has accelerated our efforts to empower Malaysian youth, paving the way for a financially inclusive society."

He further highlighted that financial literacy extends beyond wealth accumulation to encompass critical life skills such as informed decision-making on spending, saving, investing, and managing debt. Instilling these skills early prepares youth to navigate the complexities of financial life with confidence and responsibility.

BSN's Chief Executive, Jay Khairil, underscored the broader significance of the initiative: "BSN's mission centers on empowering the rakyat and promoting financial inclusion. Financial literacy is essential for sustainable development, and we are committed to ensuring that no Malaysian is left behind. Programmes like Camp Millionaire and Know Your Money equip the younger generation with the tools to secure their financial futures and reflect our dedication to building a resilient and inclusive Malaysia."

This partnership between FWD Insurance and BSN transcends traditional business collaborations, focusing on delivering meaningful societal impact. By equipping the next generation with financial skills and knowledge, the initiative underscores their shared commitment to fostering a financially literate and inclusive Malaysia. Through efforts like Camp Millionaire, both organizations reaffirm their dedication to shaping a brighter and more resilient future for all Malaysians.
