Duke Energy is offering an extra $125,000 in financial aid to customers in Ohio and Kentucky who may be facing difficulties in paying their energy bills. This amount supplements the initial $292,000 allocated to the Greater Cincinnati region, resulting in a combined total of $417,000 from Duke Energy's Share the Light FundĀ®. Every dollar donated to the fund is matched by the Duke Energy Foundation, fostering a partnership between customers and communities to assist individuals and families in need.
According to Amy Spiller, the president of Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky, "We want to assure our customers who may be struggling to pay their energy bills that we are here to provide support." By collaborating with partner organizations, Duke Energy can assist customers during these challenging times.
The funds will be distributed through two community partners: The Salvation Army in Ohio will receive a $75,000 contribution, while the Northern Kentucky Community Action Agency (NKCAA) will receive $50,000. Eligible Duke Energy customers can receive an annual credit of up to $300 on their account.
Kentucky customers can contact the NKCAA at 859.581.6607, while Ohio customers should reach out to their respective local community action agencies listed below to determine their eligibility:
