KeyBank Funds Care Farm Therapy Expansion for Treasure Valley Youth

12/10/2024

KeyBank has awarded $300,000 to the Children’s Home Society of Idaho to support the expansion of its Care Farm Therapy Program, which serves children and adolescents in Treasure Valley facing mental health challenges.

The Children’s Home offers a range of mental health services, including nature-based and animal-assisted therapies, medication management, and school-based counseling, focusing on providing accessible care for underserved families in the region.

The funding will enable program growth by hiring additional clinicians, training and certifying 15-20 therapists in nature-based and animal-assisted methods, and employing a psychiatrist for medication management. As part of this expansion, the organization plans to partner with more schools in Treasure Valley, introducing school-based clinicians and counseling services.

“The Care Farm Therapy Program equips vulnerable children and families with essential mental health resources, helping them build a brighter future,” said Scott Schlange, KeyBank Idaho Market President. “We’re honored to support The Children’s Home in their mission to strengthen our community.”

Beyond therapeutic services, the Children’s Home also provides peer support groups, community events, and outreach programs to help families dealing with trauma, anxiety, and depression, ensuring support is accessible regardless of financial barriers.

“Accessibility drives our mission, and this partnership will help us reach even more children and families across our community,” said Grace Shimatsu, Development and Fundraising Manager for the Children’s Home Society of Idaho.
