Dailycsr.com – 09 November 2015 – A number of companies have been raked in the “A” list by CDP for their responsible actions taken in an attempt to “mitigate climate change”. The enlisted names include:
“Apple, Diageo, Sainsbury's, Roche Holding and Google”.
CDP is an international organisation which works under “not-for-profit” category. The same presents the “most comprehensive set of global corporate environmental data”. Moreover, CDP has made a recent release of its “annual Climate Change Report” which is “on behalf” of eight hundred twenty two investors who hold “US$95 trillion” with them.
The new release has a section devoted to the A list for “2015 Climate” wherein the companies that were recognised “as A grade for their actions to mitigate climate change” are enlisted. CDP has a scoring methodology which scanned almost two thousand companies data independently ere coming out with the names of hundred thirteen finalists. The companies who made it to the list come from all nooks and corner of the world including “brands from around the world such as, Apple, Microsoft and Google, the three largest by market capitalization”.
While, the Executive Chairman cum the Co-founder of CDP, Paul Dickinson states:
“The influence of the corporation is mighty. The momentum of business action on climate change suggests we have reached a tipping point, where companies are poised to achieve their full potential. They need ambitious policy at both a national and international level that will support them in this regard and will catalyze participation from industry at scale.”
