GRI Welcomes Submissions For Joining Its Governance Bodies

Dailycsr.com – 26 June 2019 – GRI is looking for “new members” for “five bodies”. The search for the new faces is scanning on a global platform so as to take forward GRI’s “crucial decision making and advisory functions”. The “sustainability reporting framework” provided by GRI is used most widely all over the world.
Furthermore, GRI pitches for “broad and inclusive participation” in its governance whereby getting people who represent “different sectors, roles and countries”. Stakeholders across the globe receive encouragement for reviewing the opportunities as a means to “get involved and spread the word as widely as possible”.
The invitation to apply is still on and will close after June 30, 2019. Here are the names of the “two bodies” for which nominations are being received:

- Global Sustainability Standards Board : the independent entity with sole responsibility for developing and implementing the GRI Standards
- Due Process Oversight Committee : the body ensuring the integrity of all activities related to the setting of the Standards

- GRI Board of Directors : the final decision-making authority for GRI’s governance and long-term strategy
- Stakeholder Council : the multi-stakeholder forum that advises the Board on strategic issues and business planning
- Independent Appointments Committee : the decision maker for the membership of GRI’s standard-setting bodies

The appointments will be “on a voluntary basis” and will have to be served for “three-year terms” effective from January 1, 2020.
