Dailycsr.com – 29 June 2020 – The limited edition of LA Kings “Pride t-shirt” has been launched to send its sale proceeds to the “You Can Play” organisation, which strives to promote inclusion and ensure safety for sports participants, so as to cultivate an “inclusive culture” and usher in policies to its support.
LA King is a division of AEG which proudly allies itself with “LGBTQ+ communities”, while the “LA Kings Pride Night” is an annual event while California’s Blue Shield was its presenter, which was originally scheduled to take place in “March 19, 2020”. However, the given the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, the said event had to be cancelled. Nevertheless, Kings has not waivered from its commitments towards the community.
According to AEG:
“As proud participants of LA Pride’s 2019 Festival and Parade with AEG and the LA Galaxy, the Kings had planned to participate in the 50th Anniversary Parade on June 14, 2020, which was unfortunately canceled due to COVID-19”.
Similarly, “in-person Parade” has also been pushed to next year. As a result, LA Pride has conducted the “Virtual Pride Parade”, the for the first time ever for the city. The hosts of the event included “ABC7 Eyewitness News anchors Ellen Leyva and Brandi Hitt” along with “special guest host, actress Raven-Symoné, and correspondent Karl Schmid”. Furthermore, AEG informed:
“The virtual festival pays tribute to the history of LA Pride and celebrates the Los Angeles area's storied role in the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement through a three-hour live event honoring SoCal Queer culture with musical performances, celebrity appearances, and in-depth interviews with local heroes and community activists”.
