01/13/2017

Amway initiatives have made the historic library for the visually impaired students.

Dailycsr.com – 13 January 2017 – On 4th of January 2017, reports Akriti Paracer, that in Guwahati’s “Blind High School”, in an initiative led by Amway, the first historic library for the “visually-impaired students” was inaugurated.

The above mentioned, first of its kind, library features “the braille versions of a variety of academic books and journals, self-help, general knowledge books”, informed The Tribune. As a result, it becomes easier for the students to procure any information they wish to avail which otherwise proved to be difficult for them.

The day, 4th of January is celebrated a “World Braille Day” in honour of the “birth anniversary of Louis Braille”, the one who invented braille. As aforementioned the said initiative was “undertaken” by the “Amway Opportunity Foundation” in collaboration with the “CSR initiative of Amway India” along with the partnership of the “school and the library”, whereby the latter at present holds two hundred books for the visual impaired students in possession.
