Dailycsr.com – 30 December 2015 – Twenty one employees of a lift truck manufacturer were diagnosed of “hand-arm vibration syndrome”. As a result, the company is asked to pay a fine of “more than £64,000”.
On the 18th of December 2015, the Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court received the information that the “Linde Heavy Truck Division” could not diagnose the risks, leading to the failure of managing the situation from “hand-arm vibration” or HAV syndrome. Reportedly, the failure has been continuing for “for more than a decade”.
On the year of 2011, the Linde Heavy Truck Division assigned “a new health and safety manager”. It is the new manager of health and safety measures that “recognised the need to manage HAV” and saw to the implementation of the measures in this respect.
