Wells Fargo & No Barrier Youth Turns Teachers Into Ambassadors for ‘Global Impact Challenge’
Dailycsr.com – 29 June 2017 – Wells Fargo along with No Barriers Youth revealed that they selected twenty “middle and high school educators” who would serve as “Global Impact Challenge” ambassadors. The challenge is a “diversity and inclusion competition” that aims to bring out the “best ideas from students” for creating a barrier free world, wherein “stereotypes and discrimination” won’t exist.
In the words of the Co-Founder of No Barrier, Erik Weihenmayer, who has been a “middle school teacher” and has earned recognition as an “adventurer who is blind”:
“At No Barriers, we gather people from all walks of life and inspire them to discover their full potential. At this year’s No Barriers Summit, we will equip teachers with the necessary tools to help students dream big and break down barriers through the Global Impact Challenge.”

The finalists chosen from the “No Barriers Summit” June 2017, will pitch their solutions to a “volunteer selection committee of business experts and start-up specialists during National Disability Employment Awareness Month” in October 2017. Moreover, during the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” that will take place on the 3rd of December 2017, the prize money of “up to $5,000” will be awarded to the winners for launching their “proposed projects in their communities”, besides getting a chance to “attend the 2018 No Barriers Summit in New York City”.
Wells Fargo’s Head of Disability and Accessibility Strategy, Kathy Martinez, said:
