Arbor Day Carbon Wins ACR 2025 Commitment to Quality Award for Carbon Market Leadership
Arbor Day Carbon, a branch of the Arbor Day Foundation, has been recognized with ACR’s 2025 Commitment to Quality Award for its contributions to the voluntary carbon market.

"We see the voluntary carbon market as a powerful force for global change, and maintaining trust is essential for its success. That’s why we hold ourselves to the highest standards, ensuring our forestry carbon credit projects are developed and executed with integrity," said Chris Tointon, president of Arbor Day Carbon. "Receiving this award is an honor, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to enhance quality and transparency in the industry."

With five decades of expertise in forestry, Arbor Day Carbon has a deep understanding of how trees can deliver real benefits to ecosystems and the communities that protect them. The organization employs a thorough evaluation process to assess project developers, ensuring both potential benefits and risks are carefully considered.

Arbor Day Carbon has retired more forestry carbon credits on the ACR than any other nonprofit, surpassing 1.6 million credits. The organization has also contributed to the planting and preservation of millions of trees across various regions, including the Mississippi River Alluvial Valley. Beyond its retired ACR credits, Arbor Day Carbon has facilitated transactions of over 6.4 million additional forestry carbon credits through major global standards such as Verra, Plan Vivo, and the Climate Action Reserve.

ACR, a globally recognized carbon crediting program, has been honoring climate leaders at its annual Climate Impact Awards for over 15 years. Arbor Day Carbon received this recognition alongside distinguished awardees, including Earth System Scientist Carlos Nobre, Duke University, Grupo Perú, and the Ministry of Environment of Perú.
