Principal Financial Group Named 2025 Military Friendly Employer for Commitment to Veterans

11/19/2024

Principal Financial Group has been recognized with the 2025 Military Friendly® Employer designation, celebrating its dedication to creating meaningful and sustainable opportunities for members of the military community.

The designation is awarded based on a thorough evaluation using publicly available data and responses to a proprietary survey. This year, over 1,200 companies participated in the Military Friendly survey.

“We are proud to receive the 2025 Military Friendly Employer designation, which highlights our unwavering commitment to supporting the military community,” said Dan Houston, Chairman and CEO of Principal Financial Group. “Veterans bring invaluable skills to our organization, such as integrity, teamwork, and a strong sense of accountability. We are committed to providing the benefits, training, and support needed to help service members transition their unique talents into fulfilling careers with us.”

The methodology for the designation was developed by VIQTORY in collaboration with the Military Friendly Advisory Council, consisting of independent leaders in military recruitment. Final ratings were determined by combining survey results with evaluations of each organization’s performance in recruitment, new hire retention, employee turnover, and the promotion and advancement of veterans and military employees.

“Employers recognized as Military Friendly are committed to impactful initiatives that make a significant difference in the lives of service members, military spouses, and veterans,” said Kayla Lopez, Senior Director of Military Partnerships at Military Friendly. “These organizations demonstrate that hiring military personnel goes beyond goodwill—it’s a smart business decision. Their dedication to integrating military talent reflects both compassion and strategic foresight.”
